What I Don’t Know

What I Don’t Know

The Size of This Universe
represents
what I don’t know Beloved!

Hard to Believe
that truth
was the one that
opened me up to
the wonder of a child.

Better yet a blown away adult
to appreciate the punch line
of that eternal joke.

A cool breeze it
was across the perspiring face
of the human knot
I’ve been.

A tight mind
wrapped around my
knowledge, learning,
thinking, viewpoints,
and preferences
like an overprotective mother
or
better yet
a jealous lover.

Prying,
poking,
irritating,
judging,
wrestling,
arguing,
defending,
tumbling down the hill
like two boys
testing their manhood
in our neighborhood show down.

me vs. you
me vs. me

my knowledge
vs.
your exquisite
ever changing
textures
of nowness.

You had to prove it
to me.

Finally a crack opens,
your light enters
my mind realizes
the lies I have believed
even worse those
I’ve told myself.

To find
the ecstasy,
the sensual,
and
the daily ordinariness
of 1001 openings
that live in the texture
of sight,
touch,
taste,
smell,
sound,
all beyond what
I can store in
this mind
and infinitely
more real.
